José Fernando Carvajal
Executive Director & Member of
the Board of Directors, CBS Foundation
José Fernando Carvajal Vanegas is the Executive Director of the CBS Foundation, a role he has held since he and Josefina established the organization 29 years ago in Colombia. Under his steadfast leadership, the foundation has significantly expanded its mission to provide comprehensive care for the elderly. This expansion includes initiatives launched in the United States five years ago and in Canada two years ago, marking a pivotal milestone in the foundation´s global reach.
With nearly three decades of unwavering dedication and experience, José Fernando continues to drive the foundation´s commitment to delivering exceptional care for senior citizens.
His background as a surgeon uniquely enriches his perspective on health and wellness, influencing the foundation´s holistic approach to elder care.
Josefina Torres Ramírez
Director of Programs & Member of
the Board of Directors, CBS Foundation
Josefina Torres Ramírez is the Director of Programs and a Member of the Board of Directors at the CBS Foundation, which she and José Fernando Carvajal Vanegas established 29 years ago in Colombia. With extensive expertise in administration and institutional management, Josefina has played a crucial role in shaping the foundation´s initiatives. Her academic background includes specializations in Administration and Institutional Management, along with diplomas in Social Project Formulation and Evaluation, Public Management, Human Rights, Quality Auditing, Financial Auditing, Forensic Auditing, among others.
Josefina´s background in economics enhances her strategic approach to program development and management.
Mariana Carvajal Torres
Managing Director & Member of
the Board of Directors, CBS Foundation
Mariana Carvajal Torres has served as the Managing Director of the CBS Foundation for five years. With a background in communications and specialized expertise gained from roles at Comcast Business and SAP SE, Mariana brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership and organizational management to her current role. Her diverse professional background outside the foundation enriches her ability to drive innovation and implement effective strategies that advance the CBS Foundation´s mission. Her proficiency as a communications specialist enables her to effectively drive initiatives that advance the CBS Foundation´s goals, ensuring impactful outreach and engagement with stakeholders.
Evan Paul Harof
Chief Financial Officer & Member of
the Board of Directors, CBS Foundation
Evan Harof, CFP®, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in mathematics from King University in Bristol, Tennessee. He continued his education through the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and earned his CFP® certification.
Evan published an economic analytical study of the Tennessee and Virginia border area that centered on the different labor markets and how they were affected by unemployment before and after the 2007 recession. The study broke down various key elements that resulted in disparities in the strength and time of recovery of some sectors of the regional economy as compared to others.
In addition to economics, Evan has always had a passion for sports. He played football, basketball, and baseball and went on to play Division II baseball as a pitcher for the King University Tornado, where he was named to the All-Conference Academic Honors team for Conference Carolinas.
